The Tactical SS 4.0 is a single-stack 1911 chambered in .40 S&W with a 4-inch stainless steel bushing barrel and single-action-only operation. Magazine capacity is up to 10+1 using the included 10-round magazines.
The slide is marked “TACTICAL SS 4.0” on the right, with diagonal front and rear serrations for confident manipulation. The left side shows the Texas outline with “sTI,” and the left frame is rollmarked “STI INTERNATIONAL GEORGETOWN, TX USA.” Sights are a Heinie Ledge rear (marked “HEINIE”) paired with a red fiber-optic front for fast, bright aiming references.
The frame features a full-length railed dustcover with four Picatinny-style slots for mounting accessories, plus checkering on the frontstrap and vertical serrations on the mainspring housing. Controls include an ambidextrous thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with memory pad. A long, skeletonized trigger and a skeletonized commander-style hammer round out the duty-oriented setup.
Aftermarket layered G10-style grip panels (tan/black laminate look) are installed, offering a textured, modern feel in hand. The original STI factory black grip panels with raised STI logos are included as spares. Also included is a Dawson Precision Perfect Impact front sight package for sight-height tuning options.
