This SDP Compact is made in Switzerland and marked "SPHINX – MADE IN SWITZERLAND," with KRISS USA import markings from Virginia Beach, VA (CH2015US). The steel slide wears a PVD-type black finish, and the upper frame is hard-coat anodized aluminum in matte silver, delivering the signature two-tone look.
The pistol is a hammer-fired DA/SA with a curved trigger, bilateral decocker, and a firing pin block. A separate, top-mounted loaded chamber indicator on the slide just behind the ejection port provides a clear visual and tactile status check; the extractor is a standard external type.
The slide runs on internal rails with a reverse slide-in-frame design and features front and rear serrations. Sights are fixed and dovetailed: a front blade and a rear unit secured by two top screws. An integral 4-slot Picatinny accessory rail is machined into the frame.
The compact 3.7 in, non-threaded barrel is marked "9 PARA." Capacity is 10+1 with the included factory 10-round magazines. Controls include a left-side, push-button magazine release and a bilateral decocker.
The wrap-around rubberized polymer grip system accepts interchangeable inserts/backstraps (set of three included) for tailoring the hand fit. Overall, this configuration highlights the Swiss-made construction and the SDP Compact's distinct two-tone build with a steel slide over an aluminum upper frame and polymer lower/grip shell.
