This Smith & Wesson M&P 5.7 stands out for its TEMPO two-piece, gas-operated locked-breech system paired with a 5 in stainless steel threaded barrel and a 22+1 capacity. The stainless steel slide wears an Armornite finish and features lightening windows, front and rear cocking serrations, and an optics-cut with a cover plate. The M&P 5.7 uses Smith & Wesson’s TEMPO system: an internal hammer-fired, gas-operated, locked-breech design with a two-piece, rotary barrel that delays unlocking until gas reaches a port near the muzzle. This setup is purpose-built for the 5.7x28mm cartridge.
The 5 in stainless steel barrel is threaded 1/2x28 TPI and finished in Armornite. A 1:9 twist supports a wide range of 5.7 projectiles. The slide is also stainless steel with an Armornite finish and includes lightening/vent windows near the muzzle plus front and rear cocking serrations.
Steel sights are drift-adjustable, with a white-dot front and a square-notch rear. The sight radius measures 7.125 in. The slide includes an optics-cut with a cover plate for those who choose to mount an optic.
The full-size polymer frame is black and includes an accessory rail. Controls include ambidextrous slide stop levers. A flat-face trigger with an integral safety tab and a trigger safety are part of the fire-control features. Capacity is 22+1 with the included magazines.
Dimensions are practical for a full-size 5.7x28mm: overall length 8.5 in, height 5.25 in, and width 1.1 in. This pistol is made in the USA and ships with two magazines, a loader, a factory hard case, and original documentation.
