Marlin Model 1895 SBL .45-70 Govt Lever-Action, Stainless, 19 in Threaded Barrel, Ruger-Made
This Ruger-made Marlin 1895 SBL is a stainless-and-laminate .45-70 Govt lever gun built in Mayodan, North Carolina during the 2021–2022 reintroduction. It features a 19 in cold-hammer-forged, 11/16"-24 threaded barrel, a one-piece extended Picatinny rail with integrated ghost-ring rear sight, a ramped green fiber-optic front sight, and gray/black laminated hardwood furniture. A set of 34mm scope rings is installed on the rail.
Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The firearm presents in good to very good shape. There are minor rust spots on the magazine tube and minor cosmetic blemishes. The bore is clean and shiny.

Ruger-produced examples like this one carry the Mayodan, NC barrel address and RM serial prefix, marking the start of Marlin production under Ruger. The stainless/laminate SBL configuration includes a large-loop lever, a full-length magazine tube for 6+1 capacity, right-side ejection, and a cross-bolt safety with a red fire indicator.
The 19 in stainless barrel is cold-hammer-forged for durability and is threaded 11/16"-24 at the muzzle. Chambered in .45-70 Govt with a 1:20 RH twist, it is set up to handle a wide range of .45-70 loads appropriate for the platform. Factory barrel markings include "MODEL 1895 45-70 GOVT."
Up top, a one-piece extended Picatinny rail provides mounting real estate and incorporates a rugged ghost-ring rear sight, paired with a ramped green fiber-optic front sight for fast alignment. The included 34mm ring set is already installed on the rail.
The gray/black laminated hardwood buttstock and fore-end feature bordered checkering with a diamond panel motif for a sure hold. A front sling-swivel stud is installed, and the length of pull measures 14.0 in. The receiver and barrel wear a uniform stainless finish, and the barrel address reads "MARLIN • MAYODAN, NC • USA."
