The FN 503 is a micro, single-stack 9mm designed for a slim profile and easy carry. This FDE model pairs a 3.1 inch steel barrel with a 5.9 inch overall length, 1.1 inch width, and an unloaded weight of 21 oz, delivering a compact footprint without sacrificing shootability.
It is a striker-fired design with a trigger safety and a visual loaded-chamber witness cut in the barrel hood. The trigger is all-metal with a blade safety, and the listed trigger weight is 5.0. A recessed crown protects the muzzle, and rear slide serrations aid manipulation.
Sighting is straightforward and durable: fixed 3-dot sights with a dovetailed, drift-adjustable rear and a fixed front dot. The FN 503 shares the FN 509 sight dovetail specification, and the frame carries aggressive grip texturing for consistent control.
This FDE colorway was introduced in 2021, and the FN 503 was discontinued in FN’s U.S. catalog by 2023. This example includes both a 6-round magazine with a finger-extension baseplate and a 7-round extended magazine with grip sleeve for a total capacity of 7+1. Made in the USA.
