This Austrian-made Steyr Mannlicher Luxus in .30-06 combines high-polish blued steel, a jeweled bolt, and classic Bavarian stock architecture. It bears Austrian proof marks with a 1979 date code and a U.S. importer mark from Steyr, Grand Rapids, MI. A Leupold variable-power scope with duplex reticle is mounted in rings, and the rifle includes a Steyr factory detachable magazine. Sold AS-IS.
The 20-inch cold hammer-forged barrel features a distinctive spiral exterior and open sights with a ramped front and an island-base rear. The metal surfaces present as impeccable, and the bore shows an excellent, mirror finish with sharp rifling.
The Luxus-grade details stand out: high-polish bluing, an engine-turned bolt body, and select walnut with fine checkering and elegant appointments including a metal forend cap with decorative inlays and a grip cap bearing the Steyr medallion. The magazine body is stamped with the cartridge list "7x64 / .270 / .30-06 / .25-06" and the rifle feeds from a 3-round detachable box, for a 3+1 capacity.
Open sights are complemented by the mounted Leupold scope, offering a clear duplex reticle for versatile use. Handling features include a 14.0-inch length of pull, a ventilated rubber recoil pad, inletted European-style quick-detach sling bases (flush with the stock), and a right-side cheekpiece on a Bavarian-combed walnut stock.
Controls are straightforward, with a smooth bolt action and a manual safety featuring a red fire indicator dot. Import and proof marks are crisp, including "STEYR, GRAND RAPIDS, MI" and Austrian proofs with a "79" date code.

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Rifling: Excellent - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The metal surfaces are in impeccable shape. The walnut stock was snapped during shipping. A repair using a large bolt for reinforcement may be possible, but a new custom stock is the better long-term option.
