The Fieldmaster series is known for its smooth pump action and versatility with .22 S, L, and LR ammunition. This Standard Grade example retains its open sights with a ramped blade front and rear leaf, and also wears a rimfire scope on a left-side receiver mount for added sighting flexibility.
It has a 23-inch blued steel barrel paired with a full-length under-barrel tubular magazine, noted for a 15-round .22 LR capacity. The inner magazine tube includes a knurled cap and loading port window. Ejection is from the right-side port.
The rifle is stocked in walnut with a straight-comb, uncheckered buttstock capped by a black hard-plastic buttplate, and a ribbed corncob walnut forend with a circular medallion inset. The receiver is aluminum alloy with a dark anodized finish, complementing the blued barrel. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches, and a cross-bolt safety is fitted.
Rollmarks include the receiver legend "Remington Fieldmaster MODEL 572" and barrel markings "Remington Arms Co., Inc., Ilion, N.Y., U.S.A. - PATENT NO. 2,675,638" and "Remington 22 S, L, & L.R." The consignor notes the gun as serial exempt with no serial number visible in the images. Made in the United States.
