Built on the stainless K-frame, this 66-6 pairs a brushed/satin stainless finish with a fluted six-shot cylinder for a classic Combat Magnum profile. The action is double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer, a checkered hammer spur, and a smooth-faced trigger.
The 4-inch heavy-profile barrel includes a short underlug and serrated top rib, with a serrated top strap to reduce glare. Sighting is the traditional S&W arrangement: a pinned red-ramp front with insert and a screw-adjustable target-style rear blade.
The -6 revision incorporates the factory internal key lock safety, a feature specific to this later original-series variant. Model designation 66-6 is marked on the yoke cut.
Chambered in .357 Magnum with a 6-round capacity, the revolver retains the Combat Magnum lineage details, including stainless steel frame, barrel, and cylinder paired with a black S&W micrometer-adjustable rear sight for contrast. The installed aftermarket smooth hardwood finger-groove grips provide a comfortable, secure hold.
