The Single-Six Standard Model uses fixed sights with a blade front and a square-notch rear integral to the top strap, giving it the clean profile associated with early-production guns. This example retains the classic Old Model three-screw action and predates Ruger’s transfer-bar system.
Construction is Ruger-typical and robust: blued steel barrel and fluted six-shot cylinder, an investment-cast chrome-moly steel frame, and a black-finished aluminum-alloy grip frame. The bright-polished hammer with a textured spur provides positive purchase for single-action cocking.
The 5.5 inch barrel balances well for a Single-Six and, paired with the .22 LR chambering, delivers handy handling and economical shooting. Walnut grip panels with Ruger medallions complete the traditional appearance.
Made in the United States, this revolver is the Standard Model variant (not the adjustable-sight Super Single-Six). It remains eligible for Ruger’s free transfer-bar retrofit for those who prefer that update while retaining its Old Model character.
