This 1917 Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Type III is a compact, John M. Browning–designed .32 ACP with period-correct features and decorative engraving. It retains a blued steel finish, checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions, and the classic slide legends. The pistol includes one correct 8-round magazine.

Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: Engraving coverage is approximately 60% in a floral scroll pattern. The checkered walnut grips are excellent.

Type III configuration features include a 3.75 in barrel, top ejection, rear-only vertical slide serrations, heel-style magazine catch, and fixed low-profile sights. The internal-hammer, single-action blowback system and 8+1 capacity reflect the model’s original Browning design.
The pistol is tastefully enhanced with bright-cut floral scroll engraving on the slide flats, top of the slide, and frame. It wears a blued finish over steel construction and retains its checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions.
Slide legends include "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" on the right side and patent/address markings on the left, consistent with period production. This example was manufactured in 1917 in the United States.
Controls include a manual thumb safety, a grip safety, and a heel-style magazine release. Sighting is by a fixed front and a notch rear. The model’s compact size makes it a distinctive early 20th-century Colt pocket pistol with hallmark features intact.
