This R6520 Government Carbine is a pre-1994 GC-prefix configuration with period-correct features, including the A2-pattern birdcage flash suppressor and bayonet lug. The lower is marked "AR-15 A2 GOV'T CARBINE" and "CAL. .223" on the magwell—typical for Colt commercial lowers of this era—while the factory barrel/chamber is 5.56 NATO as marked. The receivers wear the correct gray hard-coat anodized finish associated with this era of production.
The 16-inch steel pencil-profile barrel uses a 1:7 twist and is marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7." It runs a carbine-length gas system and retains the A-frame front sight base with bayonet lug and sling swivel. The barrel is threaded and fitted with the standard A2 flash suppressor.
The upper is the fixed carry handle A2 pattern with case deflector and forward assist. Sighting is handled by the A2 iron system with an A2 rear drum adjustable for windage and an 8/3 elevation drum. A straight (non-delta) slip ring and the large two-piece front pivot screw reflect the correct period details.
Furniture includes the early Colt Fiberlite two-position collapsible stock with checkered buttplate, the A2 pistol grip, and round carbine-length ribbed polymer handguards. The rifle operates via semi-automatic, direct impingement, includes a manual safety, and accepts detachable STANAG magazines. Capacity is 20+1 as configured with the included magazines.
