The Model 22A-1 Sport Series runs a semi-automatic blowback action with a fixed barrel/upper assembly. A front takedown button enables quick, tool-less field-stripping, streamlining routine maintenance.
Its 5.5-inch steel heavy bull barrel provides a stable sighting plane. The upper includes an integral full-length Weaver-style rail, and the pistol retains iron sights with an adjustable rear and a fixed front blade.
The frame is an aluminum alloy finished in black, paired with black synthetic grips featuring a molded S&W logo. A manual thumb safety is included.
Chambered in .22 LR with a 10+1 capacity, this Sport Series variant was manufactured in Houlton, Maine. The model line was discontinued by 2015 and served as the forerunner to the SW22 Victory.
