This 1927 Winchester Model 92 Sporting Rifle stands out with its 24-inch round barrel, classic top-eject action, and period-correct Sporting Rifle configuration. It features a straight-grip walnut stock, rifle-style forend with steel cap, and a curved, wraparound steel crescent rifle buttplate with pronounced heel and toe. Specific Condition Notes: There are markings and areas of finish loss from previous handling and use. It presents in very good condition for its year of manufacture. The bore is bright and clean. Important: The right-side spring-steel loading gate is missing; the loading port is open with the loading-gate screw hole visible. Replacement of the loading gate is required for proper magazine loading and retention.

The Sporting Rifle configuration includes a 24-inch round carbon-steel barrel, a walnut rifle forend with a steel fore-end cap, and a straight-grip walnut stock. A curved, wraparound steel crescent rifle buttplate with pronounced heel and toe completes the classic rifle profile. The receiver and barrel wear a blued finish, and the action is top-eject.
Factory iron sights include a blade front set in a transverse dovetail at the muzzle and a semi-buckhorn rear sight with a stepped elevator. The left side of the receiver shows the factory two-hole drilled-and-tapped pattern for a receiver sight (Lyman 21/38 type pattern).
Markings are consistent with the era and model: Model 1892 "Model 92" rollmark format, upper tang marked "WINCHESTER / MADE IN U.S.A.", and barrel marked "MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO." Winchester oval WP proofs are present on both the barrel and the receiver.
