The Unica 6 employs a recoil-operated system with a reciprocating upper assembly that cycles subsequent shots into single-action. Its barrel is aligned with the lower (6 o'clock) chamber to curb muzzle rise, a signature Mateba design that pairs with the 3-inch ported barrel and muzzle brake/compensator.
Constructed with a steel frame and cylinder wearing a matte double‑nickel finish, this revolver shows a subtle two-tone look with darker sight components and muzzle device. Ambidextrous rear-mounted levers control the cylinder release, and the top of the barrel shroud is drilled and tapped for an accessory base.
The six-shot cylinder features machined flats and small numerals on the front face. An external hammer supports DA/SA operation, with the system transitioning to single-action as the mechanism cycles.
Sighting consists of adjustable sights suited to the platform.
Markings include the Italian star-over-PSF proof, the circled "M" Mateba logo with "Patented," CAT. 10084, and the boxed "BP" date code denoting 2001, along with the PARS INTL. LOU. KY. import mark.
