It is a recent release built in the United States and configured for 5-round capacity in a micro-size package.

This Model 642-UC is the Ultimate Carry variant built without the internal lock and offered exclusively through Lipsey's. It retains the classic J-frame Airweight format with a micro-size aluminum-alloy frame, a DAO action with an internal hammer, and a 5-shot cylinder rated for .38 Special +P. Factory weight is approximately 16 oz.
The barrel is a stainless two-piece design measuring 1.875 in, with an ejector-rod shroud. The stainless cylinder features chamfered charge holes and a beveled front edge to streamline loading and reholstering. The frame, receiver, and cylinder wear a matte silver/matte stainless finish for a uniform appearance.
Sight configuration is carry-focused: a pinned XS tritium front sight with a green ring pairs with a black U-notch rear set in a dovetail. The rear is drift-adjustable for windage. From the factory, sights are regulated at 15 yards for Speer 135-gr Gold Dot +P and 148-gr wadcutters.
Controls and handling benefit from the VZ G10 high-horn boot grips with speedloader relief. Materials and features throughout are chosen for daily carry: aluminum-alloy frame for reduced weight, stainless components for durability, and a snag-resistant internal-hammer, double-action-only system.
