The Barkeep pattern uses a 2.75 in barrel and omits an on-gun ejector; cartridges are cleared with a handheld ejector tool. The cylinder base pin features a knurled head for positive control during removal and installation.
The frame is Zamak 5 alloy in a silver/pewter tone, paired with a 1215 steel barrel and a steel cylinder finished in black oxide. This two-tone treatment complements the birdshead-style wood grip panels, which add secure purchase through checkering and engraved accents.
Sighting is straightforward with a fixed half-moon front blade and a topstrap trough/notch rear. An external hammer-block safety provides an additional mechanical safeguard while maintaining traditional single-action operation.
Markings include "HERITAGE BARKEEP .22 CAL" and "KEEP EMPTY CHAMBER UNDER HAMMER" on the barrel. The serial number is located on the right side of the frame with an adjacent QR/2D code. Many variants accept an optional .22 WMR cylinder, sold separately.
