This Model 360J is an overrun of the Japanese National Police sidearm, identified by the "M360J" model marking on the yoke cut. It retains the hallmark J-frame profile with a compact 1.875 in barrel and a 5-shot fluted cylinder, tailored for discreet carry and straightforward operation.
The aluminum-alloy frame is rollmarked "Airweight" and includes a top-strap steel blast-shield insert. A two-piece, steel-lined barrel sits within the alloy shroud, combining rigidity and corrosion resistance with minimal weight. The stainless cylinder wears a dark PVD finish that complements the black frame.
Controls are classic DA/SA with an exposed, checkered hammer spur and a smooth-face trigger. Sights are fixed, with a pinned ramp front featuring a red/orange insert and a rear gutter notch for a clean, carry-ready sight picture.
Aftermarket VZ Grips are installed, using red/black textured G10 panels that offer a secure, hand-filling grasp on the micro-size frame. Additional factory details include "SPFLD, MA S&W U.S.A." frame rollmarks and SKU/MPN 160360, with supporting factory box and dated S&W envelope from 2012.
