Built on the 1911 platform, this Lightweight Commander uses an aluminum alloy frame finished in nickel to reduce weight while maintaining Colt's traditional ergonomics. The checkered, flat mainspring housing and a silver checkered front-strap overlay (installed beneath the grip panels) provide a secure, familiar feel. Left-side controls include the thumb safety, slide stop, and magazine release, with additional safety provided by the grip safety.
The stainless slide features front and rear cocking serrations, a matte top, and a lowered and flared ejection port for reliable cycling. It retains the standard barrel bushing and recoil spring plug (non-bull barrel) with a 4.25-inch barrel. The barrel hood is marked "COLT .45 AUTO."
Sighting is enhanced with a dovetailed green fiber-optic front and a low-mount dovetailed rear with two green rods. The pistol wears double-diamond checkered hardwood grip panels and includes an additional pair of Colt-branded checkered panels in the case. The trigger is a long, lightweight three-hole type, paired with a skeletonized Commander-style hammer for a crisp single-action feel.
Factory designation is O4860NCC (case label also reflects 04860NCC) and the label notes the Nickel/Stainless finish and Model O, along with Colt patent numbers 4,555,861 and 4,754,689. This U.S.-made Commander comes with six 8-round magazines to round out a complete, ready-to-use package.
