The Redhawk Hunter series is built on Ruger’s robust steel frame and, in this example, is finished in blued steel with a six-shot fluted cylinder. It was manufactured in 1994 in the United States and chambers .44 Remington Magnum, combining strength with classic big-bore performance.
The Hunter configuration stands out for its wide, raised-rib barrel with integral scalloped cuts designed for Ruger scope rings, allowing optics to mount using the appropriate rings without any drilling or tapping. The barrel also features a partial (shrouded) underlug that protects the ejector rod.
Sighting is set up for precision with a fully adjustable rear sight and an interchangeable ramp front sight with an orange insert. This setup is straightforward to tune for a variety of loads and lighting conditions.
Pachmayr Gripper rubber finger-groove grips are installed, offering a secure, hand-filling shape. The revolver retains its square-butt grip frame, and the original Ruger factory one-piece wood grip is included.
Operation is double-action/single-action with Ruger’s transfer bar safety system. The 7.5-inch steel barrel, steel frame, and blued finish combine durability with a classic Redhawk appearance tailored to the Hunter series.
