The Rock Island Armory VR80 is a 12 gauge, AR-12–style semi-automatic shotgun built by Derya Arms in Turkey and imported by AP International/RIA. This example features a 20 in barrel with a spiral-fluted cylindrical barrel shroud, aluminum alloy receivers, a ventilated aluminum forend, and a full-length Picatinny top rail with flip-up sights. It comes with two 5-round magazines and three screw-in chokes (Cylinder, Modified, Full), making it a versatile package with proven, short-stroke gas operation.

The VR80 pairs an AR-12 layout with aluminum alloy upper and lower receivers and a ventilated aluminum forend. A full-length Picatinny top rail bridges the receiver and handguard, and a short lower rail section is integrated for accessory mounting. Factory flip-up front and rear iron sights are installed. The shotgun wears a uniform black finish throughout.
Operation is semi-automatic and gas-operated, with factory literature noting a short-stroke system and a recommended break-in for reliable cycling. Controls are AR-style, including a right-side magazine release, a left-side bolt catch, and a manual safety selector. The charging handle is positioned on the left side for quick access.
The 20 in barrel is threaded for screw-in chokes and covered by a spiral-fluted cylindrical shroud. This shotgun uses Mobil-pattern chokes, and three tubes are provided: Cylinder, Modified, and Full. The marked BufferBolt System cover and AR-style configuration round out a design focused on controllable cycling and familiar handling.
The BufferTHS fixed thumbhole polymer stock includes a rubber buttpad and a 14.5 in length of pull. Overall length is approximately 40 in, offering a balanced feel with the aluminum forend. The detachable box magazines provide a 5+1 capacity with 2.75 in or 3 in shells, within the 3 in chamber specification.
