The EMP 3 platform refines the 1911 for 9mm with a micro-size frame and slide. It features a forged stainless slide in matte stainless over a black forged aluminum-alloy frame, producing a durable two-tone finish. The slide uses dovetailed sight cuts and a lowered ejection port for reliable cycling and clean ejection.
Its 3.0 in bull, bushingless, fully supported/ramped match-grade barrel is paired with a dual-spring full-length guide rod. This setup enhances durability and smooth operation in a compact format while maintaining barrel support and consistent lockup.
The sighting system is straightforward and fast: a red fiber-optic front blade and a low-profile two-dot rear, both dovetailed into the slide. This combination offers a bright front reference with a snag-resistant rear profile.
Controls and ergonomics include an ambidextrous thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory pad. A skeletonized aluminum 3-hole trigger and a skeletonized commander-style hammer come standard. The frame uses a smooth front strap with a flat, checkered mainspring housing, complemented by gray/black textured checkered grips.
Capacity is 9+1 with the included EMP-stamped single-stack steel magazines. The pistol is made in the United States and follows the familiar 1911 manual of arms in a compact, carryable footprint.
