This Ed Brown EVO-KC9 is the first model in the Evolution Series, built as a compact 9mm 1911 with modernized features throughout. It comes in matte stainless steel with a 4-inch bushingless bull barrel and flat-wire recoil system, and includes a spare non-optic-cut slide with sights installed. Four 9-round magazines, a soft case, manual, bushing wrench, and a leather OWB holster round out a well-equipped package.

The EVO-KC9 pairs a compact 9mm 1911 platform with a matte stainless slide and frame, delivering a clean, carry-oriented package. As the first model in Ed Brown's Evolution Series, it incorporates numerous design updates while retaining familiar 1911 ergonomics and controls. Capacity is 9+1 with a single-stack magazine, and it is built in the USA.
The 4-inch bull barrel is bushingless with a flush crown, and it is matched to a flat-wire recoil spring system. Slide details include a tri-top profile with distinctive 7-top machining, front and rear cocking serrations, a lowered and flared ejection port, and an external extractor. The hammer is a skeletonized commander style, and the aluminum three-hole trigger includes an adjustable overtravel stop.
Sighting is straightforward and durable: the optic-cut slide and the included spare slide have different sight configurations. The spare non-optic-cut slide comes with front and rear sights installed; it is a slide-only component and does not include a barrel, recoil system, or other internal parts.
Grip and control features are tuned for carry and handling. A bobtail mainspring housing with scale-pattern texturing promotes a comfortable, snag-resistant profile, while the beveled magazine well aids reloads. Safety and control elements include a beavertail grip safety, thumb safety, and a recessed slide stop. The pistol has no accessory rail.
