Mauser HSc .380 ACP Compact Pistol, 1976 West German Interarms Import, Blued, DA/SA
This West German Mauser HSc is a .380 ACP compact pistol imported by Interarms in 1976, identified by Ulm proof and nitro marks along with the two-letter date code "HG." It features a polished blued steel slide and frame, fixed sights, and checkered walnut grips with stamped Mauser banner cartouche. The serial prefix "01" is associated with .380 ACP HSc pistols, adding useful model context for collectors and enthusiasts.
Condition
Overall Condition: Poor condition.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: With a magazine inserted and the slide locked to the rear, the pistol becomes bound and does not release the slide or allow the user to remove the magazine. The magazine very easily gets stuck in the action and is difficult to remove. To remove the magazine, the slide must be pulled fully to the rear and, even then, it remains difficult to remove. This pistol is not fully operational, will require gunsmithing, and is being sold as is. Finish loss is present on the tang, with scratches and blemishes noted.
The bore is clean and shiny, and the feed ramp is clean.
What’s Included
- Mauser HSc .380 ACP pistol
- 2x 7-round steel single-stack Mauser HSc magazines (finger-rest floorplate extension observed among them)
Built for the commercial market after 1968 at Oberndorf and imported by Interarms for the U.S., this HSc carries the INTERARMS Alexandria, Virginia import mark, alongside West German Ulm stag-antler proof and nitro marks with the "HG" date code. The markings document its production and import path clearly.
The pistol follows the HSc’s straight-blowback, double-action/single-action system with a slide-mounted safety that also functions as a decocker. Chambered in .380 ACP, it uses a 3.4 inch barrel and has a 7+1 capacity.
Construction is polished blued steel for both slide and frame. The slide has fine, diagonal rear-only serrations for purchase. Sights are fixed, with a front blade and a rear square notch. Grips are checkered walnut with stamped Mauser banner cartouche.
As a .380 ACP example, this pistol aligns with the "01" serial prefix associated with HSc pistols in this caliber. Its compact size and period-correct features reflect 1970s West German production characteristics and Interarms import configuration.
