Chambered in .357 Magnum, this six-shot Colt Single Action Army features a fluted cylinder and the Third Generation pressed-in cylinder bushing. The action is single-action only, true to the model’s design, with carbon steel construction throughout.
The 5.5 inch Artillery-length barrel pairs with fixed sights consisting of a blade front and a top-strap rear groove. A bullseye (round, disc-shaped) ejector rod head completes the classic configuration and aids positive case extraction.
Its finish is blue and color case-hardened, with the frame and receiver showing the color case-hardening and the cylinder finished in blue. Grips are black checkered hard rubber with Rampant Colt medallions and an eagle motif, providing a period-correct look and secure purchase.
Markings are as expected for the period: "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .357 MAGNUM" on the left side of the barrel and "COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT.
U.S.A." along the top. The left side of the frame carries the two-line patent legend with the Rampant Colt logo. This example reflects early Third Generation production with the SA-prefix serial format, manufactured in 1979 in the United States.
