This limited-edition Gunsite Pistol reflects an early-2000s collaboration between Colt and Gunsite, identified by special rollmarks and the CGP serial prefix. The slide bears the Gunsite raven and the Colt Rampant Pony, tying the pistol directly to this factory-marked production run.
Built on the Lightweight Commander format, it pairs a steel slide with a matte gray aluminum-alloy frame for a two-tone matte finish. The 4.25-inch barrel length and compact 1911 platform maintain classic Commander proportions while reducing weight through the alloy frame.
Functional enhancements include a dehorned slide, a lowered and relieved ejection port, and a lightly beveled frame magwell. The beavertail grip safety has a raised memory pad, complemented by a single-side extended thumb safety, a Commander-style ring (rowel) hammer, and a flat, vertically serrated mainspring housing. The trigger is a short, solid, serrated aluminum unit, and the magazine release is checkered for positive actuation.
The slide features rear vertical serrations only, with a barrel bushing and GI-style recoil spring plug. Sighting is set up with a Novak low-mount fixed rear and an aftermarket Night Fision front blade with a luminous dot. The package includes two 8-round magazines, one marked with the Gunsite raven.
