The DD5 Ambush is Daniel Defense's .308 Win AR-10 configured under the Ambush Firearms banner, the company's hunting-focused brand. It wears a multi-tone camouflage Cerakote by Ambush Firearms, and the right side of the receiver carries the Ambush Firearms script. The rifle is built in the USA and feeds from AR-10/DPMS-pattern detachable magazines with a 10+1 maximum capacity.
A free-float aluminum handguard anchors a continuous, T-marked Picatinny top rail. Factory polymer flip-up front and rear sights ride the rail, giving immediate sighting capability and straightforward alignment across the full-length top rail.
The 16 inch barrel is threaded and fitted with a multi-port muzzle brake/compensator. The action is direct impingement and includes an ejection port cover and forward assist. Controls are modern and fully ambidextrous, including the bolt and magazine controls, plus an ambidextrous safety with a selector marked SAFE/SEMI.
