    What's Included

    • Wooden presentation/display case with red/white/blue painted exterior and red padded interior
    • Pair of mother-of-pearl style grip panels (loose, not installed) for Colt New Service/Model 1917
    • Unbranded metal cleaning rod

This example is an arsenal rework, rebarreled with a commercial 7.5" barrel roll-marked "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT," and converted from its original .45 ACP service configuration to .45 Colt. The combination of a U.S. Army–marked Model 1917 frame and civilian-spec barrel creates a mixed-marking revolver that reflects both service heritage and post-service reconfiguration.

The frame carries the buttstrap legend "U.S. ARMY MODEL 1917" with the Army number "No 89308" present, along with inspector-style stamps on the crane/frame flat. The frame serial is present on the crane/frame flat. These markings underscore its military origin while documenting the transition to civilian use.

Built on Colt’s large New Service frame, the revolver features a fluted 6-shot cylinder, an unshrouded ejector rod with knurled tip, and a lanyard swivel on the butt. Sights are fixed, with a fixed front sight and a topstrap groove rear. The action is double-action/single-action with the Colt Positive Lock safety.

Construction is carbon steel with a mixed refinish: the barrel and cylinder are blued, while the frame and front sight are polished in‑the‑white, with smooth hardwood grips installed. The 7.5" carbon-steel barrel and overall fit reflect the sturdy New Service pattern, now chambered and set up for .45 Colt.

Manufactured in 1919 in the United States, this Model 1917 Arsenal Rework combines military provenance with a practical .45 Colt setup, supported by clear roll marks and inspector-style stamps.
