- Marlin Glenfield Mod. 60 .22 LR semi-automatic rifle
Manufactured by The Marlin Firearms Co. in North Haven, Connecticut, this Glenfield-series rifle reflects 1970s production and pre-Remington quality control. The early configuration combines a 22 in round blued carbon steel barrel with a full-length fixed tubular magazine, a hallmark of this period.
The receiver is a black-finished alloy unit with right-side ejection and a bright in-the-white bolt. The blowback action is straightforward and reliable, and the bore shows good rifling with clean, well-defined lands and grooves.
Feeding is via a fixed tubular magazine with an inner magazine tube, a knurled end cap, and a side loading port window. This full-length tube complements the 22 in barrel, forming the classic Glenfield 60 profile that many shooters recognize.
Sighting equipment consists of a ramped front blade (no hood) and an elevation-adjustable rear leaf. The receiver top includes integral tip-off scope grooves for mounting compatible rings when desired.
The one-piece hardwood stock features pressed checkering, a straight comb, and the Glenfield squirrel-in-shield motif at the wrist, paired with a black checkered plastic buttplate. Length of pull measures 14.0 in, and the rifle wears a traditional blued finish over the barrel with a contrasting black receiver.
