The CZ 550 Safari Magnum is built on a Mauser-pattern controlled-round-feed action with a fixed ejector for reliable feeding and extraction with dangerous-game cartridges. Its forged square-bridge receiver includes integral dovetail scope bases and a hinged floorplate over a fixed internal box magazine.
The 25 in cold hammer-forged heavy sporter barrel is paired with express sights: a hooded front bead on a ramp and a 3-leaf express rear with a standing 100 and folding 200/300. This setup is purpose-built for quick sight alignment and durable field use.
The rifle uses a single-set trigger and a 3-position safety, offering precise control and safe handling. Magazine capacity is 3 rounds of .416 Rigby, with controlled-round feed to support positive chambering under recoil.
The walnut stock features a cheekpiece, cut checkering, sling swivel studs, and a recoil pad. Receiver, barrel, and bottom metal are blued; the bolt body is polished in-the-white, with the bolt handle and shroud blued. Steel receiver and barrel. Markings include "CZ-USA KANSAS CITY, KS" and "MADE IN CZECH REPUBLIC."
This model is part of the discontinued CZ 550 line (ended in 2020) and follows the lineage of the Brno 602 magnum Mauser action. The as-new presentation, excellent bore, and inclusion of the factory test target underscore its condition and provenance.
