The GP1975 follows the AKM pattern and uses a stamped steel receiver with magazine well dimples and a ribbed stamped top cover. It is assembled in the United States on a D.C. Industries stamped receiver and bears clear manufacturer and model markings.
The 16.5-inch barrel is non-chrome-lined and threaded, fitted with an AKM-style slant compensator retained by a spring detent. Sighting is traditional AKM: a protected front post paired with a tangent rear sight leaf for practical alignment.
Furniture includes a fixed TAPCO-marked polymer buttstock that bears a CAGE code and a polymer pistol grip. A polymer lower handguard is installed; the upper handguard/gas tube cover is not installed. A rear sling loop is integrated into the stock.
The rifle operates via a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system with a right-side safety/selector lever. It accepts detachable AK-pattern double-stack magazines and is configured for a 30+1 capacity. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
