The base rifle is a Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM 16 in .308 Win with a 16.25-inch barrel and a SOCOM multi-port muzzle brake. It operates via a semi-automatic, gas-operated, short-stroke piston system with a rotating bolt, and the steel receiver is marked "SOCOM 16." It accepts M14-pattern detachable box magazines with a stated capacity of 20+1.
The installed SAGE International EBR aluminum chassis (marked with Patent 6,839,998) transforms the platform with a rigid, modular layout. It includes a sliding butt assembly with an adjustable cheek piece and rubber buttpad, plus a rubberized pistol grip for secure handling. The SAGE EBR handguard integrates a continuous top Picatinny rail and rail segments at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock; a vertical foregrip is mounted on the bottom rail.
Sighting components are set up for the SOCOM configuration: a protected front post mounted to the gas lock and an adjustable rear aperture. The gas lock/front sight assembly complements the compact barrel length while the multi-port brake helps manage the .308 Win chambering.
Component markings include the EBR chassis patent callout and a bolt marked "7790186-SA F00396." Documentation is comprehensive, with the Springfield Armory M1A manual, SAGE EBR chassis owner/installation materials, and the U.S. Army TM 9-1005-223-12. The package also includes original parts, labeled spare hardware for the EBR chassis, a soft rifle case, and six magazines (five 20-round and one 10-round).
