The long-slide configuration brings a 5 inch barrel and extended sight radius, paired with an optics-ready slide that ships with the cover plate installed. The slide is nitrocarburized and cut with lightening windows, delivering a modern VP9L OR profile made in Germany.
The barrel is cold hammer-forged with polygonal rifling and an O-ring lockup. This construction is a hallmark of HK's VP Series design and is optimized for durable service with 9mm Luger.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including paddle-style magazine releases and slide stop levers. The polymer frame uses interchangeable grip panels and includes spare backstraps to tailor fit. An integral 4-slot Picatinny-type accessory rail is molded into the dust cover.
Factory iron sights are installed, with a bright green luminescent front dot and a black rear notch. Markings include DE and DF proofs with HKI – Columbus, GA importer stamp. The slide and frame carry matching serials. Capacity is 20+1 with the included 20-round magazines, and 17+1 with the 17-round magazines.
