The GI configuration defines this pistol. It features the short, solid GI-style trigger, arched mainspring housing, and spur hammer, paired with a traditional GI recoil system using a short guide rod and plug. These parts, along with the fixed GI sights, deliver a true A1-style setup.
Construction is all steel with a parkerized finish in a matte gray/green tone. The double-diamond checkered wood grips with a "U.S." cartouche complete the period-correct look and feel.
The slide is cut with rear vertical serrations and no front serrations. It retains a standard-height ejection port. Sighting equipment is GI pattern, with a staked half-moon front and a square-notch fixed rear.
Markings include "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" on the right side of the slide and "MODEL 1911-A1" on the left, along with "S.I. GENESEO IL USA" and "MADE IN BRAZIL – IMBEL" import and origin stamps on the pistol. The WW serial prefix is associated with Springfield’s GI-series pistols.
This is a full-size Government-length 1911 with a 5-inch barrel, chambered in .45 ACP and configured for a 7+1 capacity. It uses a semi-automatic, single-action, locked-breech system with a left-side thumb safety and a grip safety.
