The 3-inch stainless steel barrel includes a ventilated top rib, a full underlug, and a lightening window near the muzzle. The user-interchangeable black front ramp carries an orange insert, while the rear sight is black and fully adjustable for windage and elevation.
Construction is all stainless: the barrel and cylinder present a semi-bright polished finish, and the frame shows a brushed/satin finish. The frame wears the Rampant Colt logo, and the barrel is roll-marked "PYTHON .357" and ".357 MAGNUM" with star separators, with the right-side address "COLT'S MFG. HARTFORD, CT USA."
This double-action/single-action revolver uses a transfer bar safety system and a fluted six-shot cylinder with Colt's rearward-pull latch. It is chambered in .357 Magnum and is rated by Colt to also fire .38 Special and .38 Special +P.
The installed aftermarket stag-style grip panels with Colt medallions give the revolver a distinctive look and confident purchase. For those who prefer a classic factory configuration, Colt's checkered walnut stocks with gold medallions are included.
