The Shield Plus format delivers a micro-size footprint with an overall length of 6.1 inches, height of 4.6 inches, width of 1.1 inches, and an unloaded weight of 17.9 ounces. The stainless-steel slide and barrel receive Smith & Wesson’s Armornite treatment, and the matte black finish is matched to a polymer frame in the same color.
This no-thumb-safety model is striker-fired and uses a curved trigger with a center safety blade and an audible, tactile reset. A trigger safety is standard, and the left-side magazine release supports straightforward reloads. Smith & Wesson’s M&P sear-deactivation system allows disassembly without pulling the trigger.
Sight alignment is handled by 3-dot dovetailed iron sights: a white-dot front and a white 2-dot rear. The slide features front and rear wavy cocking serrations for traction. This submodel is non–optics-ready, and the dust cover has no accessory rail. The right side of the slide bears the caution legend "CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED."
Factory capacity is 13+1 with the included magazines. This example comes with three 13-round and two 10-round factory steel mags, providing both flush-fit and extended options. The pistol is identified by S&W part number 13248 and is made in the United States.
