The LCP is a micro-size .380 ACP pistol with the original DAO, internal-hammer design. This example has the slide marking "RUGER - MAYODAN - NC - USA" and was made in the USA in 2018. The 372-prefix serial denotes the factory post-recall upgrade for this model.
Construction is focused on durability and low weight. It uses a through-hardened alloy steel barrel paired with a glass-filled nylon frame. The slide has a matte/satin stainless finish with rear serrations, and the sights are integral and fixed: an integral front blade and an integral rear notch.
Operation is double-action-only with an internal hammer. The pistol has a manual slide hold-open and a standard capacity of 6+1 rounds. Two factory magazines are included, and one has a finger-extension baseplate for an alternative grip option.
Dimensions are compact for discreet carry: overall length 5.16 in, height 3.60 in, and width 0.82 in. Weight is approximately 9.6 oz. The 2.75 in barrel uses a 1:16 RH twist suited for common .380 ACP loads.
