It features a government-length 5 in stainless, ported barrel, a direct-milled RMR/SRO optic cut, and a monolithic 7075-T6 aluminum frame paired with a carbon-steel slide. Capacity is 17+1 and four factory Glock magazines are included.

The Platypus 17 is built on a 1911 platform and designed to accept Glock 17-pattern magazines, delivering a 17+1 capacity with a flared magazine well for confident reloads. The integral, textured grip with a scale-like pattern promotes consistent control while maintaining a familiar 1911 grip angle of 17.5°.
Its monolithic 7075-T6 aluminum frame keeps weight down while the carbon-steel slide and 5 in stainless, ported barrel provide durability. Forward and rear angled cocking serrations and a top window/lightening cut on the slide add practical handling and weight reduction.
The slide is direct-milled for the RMR/SRO footprint and comes with a fitted cover plate installed. Sight setup is optic-ready, and iron sight configuration may vary.
Controls include an ambidextrous thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a raised pad. The single-action, flat-faced trigger complements the rowel (commander-style) hammer for a crisp break, and the full-length accessory rail with Picatinny slots supports commonly used lights. This configuration reflects a recent production release made in the USA.
