The Model 81 configuration is confirmed by the barrel rollmark and the internal model code "227." The barrel is marked "MODEL 81 BLR CALIBER .308 ONLY" along with Patent No. 3377731. The rifle retains its original two-tone finishes—polished blued steel barrel and satin gray anodized aluminum-alloy receiver—and period-correct features consistent with late-1980s Miroku production.
The BLR’s rotary, recessed bolt with a plunger ejector and a detachable 4+1 box magazine allow reliable feeding with spitzer bullets in .308 Win. This short-action setup provides quick cycling while maintaining the accuracy benefits of pointed projectiles.
Factory iron sights include a ramped front blade and a folding rear leaf. The receiver is drilled and tapped, with two-piece bases and rings installed, and it is fitted with a Bushnell Sportview 3-9x32mm 1" SFP Duplex scope. The scope’s turret cap bears the circular "B" logo.
Walnut furniture features cut checkering and a high-gloss finish. Additional details include sling swivel studs, a Browning-marked buttplate, and a walnut forearm secured by a barrel band. Accents include a gold-colored trigger and a Browning Buckmark inlay on the lever. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
