The Thunder 22 uses a straight-blowback system with a double-action/single-action trigger, giving it a familiar control layout with an external spurred hammer. The slide and barrel are steel, and the frame is aluminum alloy, all finished in matte black for a uniform appearance.
Sighting is straightforward with fixed three-dot sights: a fixed blade front with a white dot and a dovetailed rear with two white dots. The slide-mounted safety/decocker includes a red fire indicator dot, and the rear sight is dovetailed for secure fitment.
Controls include a button-style, checkered magazine release and a slide-mounted safety/decocker. The grip frame has a pronounced beavertail and a serrated front of the trigger guard for added indexing. Checkered black polymer grip panels feature the molded BERSA oval.
This is the standard 3.5 inch model with a detachable single-stack magazine and a 10+1 capacity. Markings include "IMPORTED BY R.S.A. ENTERPRISES INC OCEAN N.J., BERSA S.A. RAMOS MEJIA ARGENTINA," confirming its Argentine origin and U.S. import history.
