The M77R is the no-sights variant of Ruger’s original tang-safety M77, and this example dates to 1978. The receiver is investment-cast steel and marked "RUGER M77." Ruger’s angled front guard screw bedding system is employed for secure action-to-stock fit.
The 24" blued steel sporter barrel is chambered in 7mm Rem. Mag. and configured without factory iron sights, consistent with the "R" designation. The bore condition is excellent, with sharp rifling.
Ruger’s integral receiver dovetail scope bases accept the included rings; 1-inch Ruger rings are installed for immediate scope setup. This system provides a solid, direct-to-receiver mounting interface without separate bases.
The bolt-action system is a push-feed design with a Sako-style external claw extractor. Feeding is from an internal box magazine (3+1 capacity) with a hinged floorplate and in-guard release. Controls include a tang safety and an adjustable trigger.
The walnut stock has crisp checkering on the grip and forend, front and rear sling swivel studs, and Ruger’s red recoil pad with a black spacer. Length of pull measures 13.5", and metal surfaces carry a uniform blued finish.
