This distributor-exclusive Classic Target II combines a matte black slide with a stainless steel frame for a clean two-tone presentation. It is a full-size Government-length configuration with a 5-inch barrel and a 7+1 capacity in .45 ACP. The frame carries Yonkers, NY manufacturer markings.
The Series II system features a Swartz-type firing-pin block actuated by the grip safety, alongside the traditional 1911 grip safety and thumb safety. Controls are thoughtfully executed, including a checkered magazine release and a flat, checkered mainspring housing with a smooth frontstrap.
Target-focused elements include a fully adjustable rear sight paired with a fixed front blade. The slide uses rear serrations only. Internals center on performance parts: a match-grade barrel and bushing, plus a match-grade, lightened three-hole trigger for a precise, consistent pull.
Ergonomics and aesthetics are finished with wood grip panels featuring the Kimber oval logo and a textured/stippled center section for secure purchase. The skeletonized spur hammer complements the trigger system and keeps the classic 1911 profile intact. As a limited run from the mid-2000s, this Gander Mountain exclusive offers a defined production window with distinctive factory features.
