This Colt Model 1847 Walker is a 2nd Generation Blackpowder Series F-Series revolver from circa 1980–1982, assembled and finished in the United States. It is a faithful reproduction of the historic Walker, featuring a 9-inch half-octagon-to-round barrel, factory-engraved Ormsby Ranger-and-Indian cylinder scene, and correct period markings including "US 1847" and the New York barrel address. Distinct from the later Signature Series, this example presents as a collectible F-Series with matching serial numbers in the proper locations.

    What's Included

    • Colt Blackpowder Series factory box
    • Colt Blackpowder Series factory manual (original)

The Blackpowder Series 2nd Generation F-Series represents Colt’s U.S.-assembled continuation of the classic percussion line, using some Italian-cast components with final fitting and finishing done domestically. This run is distinct from the later Signature Series and aligns with the circa 1980–1982 production era.

Configuration is true to the Walker pattern: single-action, percussion ignition with a six-shot steel cylinder, a 9-inch steel barrel in a half-octagon-to-round profile, and robust steel construction. It wears a color case-hardened frame, a blued barrel and cylinder, a brass square-back trigger guard, a blued steel backstrap, and a one-piece walnut grip.

Sighting is period-correct with a bright-metal blade front sight and a hammer notch rear. The cylinder is factory engraved with the Ormsby-designed Ranger-and-Indian fight scene, a hallmark detail of the Walker pattern.

Authentic barrel and frame markings include "US 1847" on the right barrel lug above the wedge and "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY." on the top barrel flat. Matching serial numbers are present on the underside of the barrel lug, the forward underside of the frame, and the butt of the backstrap.

Noted historically as the most powerful U.S. military-issued handgun of its era, the Walker design is faithfully represented here, combining correct features with the fit and finish expected of Colt’s 2nd Generation F-Series.
