The Model 605 is chambered in .357 Magnum with a 5-shot cylinder and a 2.00-inch barrel, and it also accepts .38 Special +P. The compact barrel length and steel construction make it a solid option for those wanting magnum performance in a small-frame revolver.
It features double-action/single-action operation with an exposed spurred hammer. Safety elements include a transfer-bar safety; this specimen does not have the Taurus Security System (TSS) key lock.
The revolver is built with a carbon/alloy steel frame, barrel, and cylinder, all finished in matte black oxide. An under-barrel shroud/underlug adds protection and balance. The fluted cylinder rotates clockwise, and the ejector rod has a knurled tip for positive control. A checkered cylinder release latch on the left side enhances handling.
Fixed sights consist of a serrated ramp front and a rear notch integral to the top strap. The black textured rubber grip with Taurus logos provides a secure hold. Markings include Taurus Int’l Mfg Bainbridge, GA and Taurus Armas Made in Brazil, and the factory part number is 2-605021.
