Built at Uzina Mecanica Cugir in Romania, this 1979 PSL-54c is a stamped-steel design with a flat-sided AKM-style front trunnion (no external bulges). The receiver is finished in black and marked "PSL-54c," with additional proof/import markings including "K-0797-79 RO" and "PSL-54c Cal. 7.62x54R."
The rifle uses a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system and is chambered in 7.62x54R. It has a 24.5-inch barrel fitted with a slotted cylindrical muzzle brake.
Sighting is via AK-pattern iron sights, with a protected post front sight and a tangent rear sight. An integral left-side Warsaw-Pact optics rail is present for compatible side-mounts.
Furniture includes a wood thumbhole stock with a rear sling loop and a two-piece wooden handguard with ventilation slots. It feeds from PSL-specific 10-round box magazines with the distinctive X embossing and a capacity of 10+1; four magazines are included.
