The Government-length 5-inch barrel uses a traditional barrel bushing and GI-style recoil spring plug, paired with a 1911-pattern short-recoil, tilting-barrel operating system. The slide features front and rear cocking serrations and a lowered/enlarged ejection port for reliable operation. Markings include "OPERATOR CAL .45" with the crossed-cannons crest on the slide and "S.A. .45AUTO" on the barrel hood.
The integral three-slot Picatinny-type accessory rail on the dust cover supports mounted lights or other rail-mounted accessories. Controls include a single-side thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety with memory bump, and a checkered magazine release. The long, skeletonized three-hole trigger and skeletonized Commander-style hammer complete the classic 1911 control layout.
Sights are fixed and dovetailed, with a high-visibility fiber-optic front and a two-white-dot rear for a clear sight picture. The pistol wears checkered hardwood Range Officer grip panels with a laser-engraved SA crossed-cannons logo and "RANGE OFFICER" text (no inlaid medallions), providing a positive hold.
