Built by Miroku in Japan, this Browning-marked Model 1886 stays true to the classic Winchester 1886 pattern, including the twin vertically sliding locking lugs and a solid-top receiver fed through a right-side loading gate. The carbine layout includes two barrel bands and a left-side saddle ring, preserving period-correct handling and carry options.
The 22 in round barrel and full-length tubular magazine provide a 7+1 capacity in .45-70 Govt, pairing substantial chambering with traditional lever-action reliability. Iron sights consist of a fixed front blade and a folding ladder-style rear leaf with a sliding elevator for adjustable elevation.
Stocked in walnut, the carbine uses a straight-grip, smooth buttstock and matching walnut fore-end. A steel carbine buttplate and 13.0 in length of pull complete the classic configuration, while the blued finish on the steel receiver and barrel ties the look together.
This reproduction maintains traditional operation without a tang safety or rebounding hammer, appealing to enthusiasts who prefer the original 1886 manual of arms. Marked “Made in Japan,” it reflects Miroku’s well-known production quality while delivering period-correct features and finish.
