Built on the 1911 platform, this Commander-length Colt uses a single-action, short-recoil, locked-breech system with a GI-length guide rod and standard plug. It retains classic controls and adds Series 80 internal safety components.
The aluminum alloy frame wears a matte silver finish, while the stainless slide provides a durable contrast, matching the case label notation of "Nickel/Stainless Finish" and model 04860XSE. The front strap is smooth, and the flat mainspring housing is vertically serrated.
Factory XSE slide features include front and rear cocking serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port. The pistol is outfitted with a rowel (Commander-style) hammer and a three-hole, lightened aluminum trigger.
Sighting equipment consists of fixed 3-dots: a dovetailed front blade and a low-mount rear in a dovetail with a set screw. Safety features include a manual thumb safety, grip safety, and a Series 80 firing pin block.
