This XD-45 is the pre-Mod.2, first-generation Service Model with a 4-inch barrel and full-size frame, chambered in .45 ACP with a 13+1 capacity. The ambidextrous magazine release supports either-hand operation without reconfiguring the pistol.
Safety and status features include Springfield's USA trigger system with a trigger safety blade, a grip safety, and an internal striker block. A tactile loaded-chamber indicator on the slide top and a rear striker-status indicator provide quick visual and tactile confirmation.
The pistol uses dovetailed fixed 3-dot sights (1-dot front, 2-dot rear) and front and rear cocking serrations for positive slide manipulation. An integral 3-slot accessory rail on the dust cover accepts compatible weapon lights or lasers.
Origin and markings are clearly present: designed and manufactured in Croatia by HS Produkt and imported by Springfield Armory. The slide is marked "XD-45ACP," the chamber hood is marked ".45 ACP," and the import stamp reads "SPRINGFIELD INC. GENESEO, IL • MADE IN CROATIA."
