This TALO Exclusive SR1911 honors Naval Special Warfare, carrying factory-applied gold embellishments that include the Navy SEAL Foundation crest and the Ruger phoenix. The run was limited to 500 pistols, and this example is marked 136/500. It is associated with the USN-prefix serial range for this edition and was manufactured in 2013.
Built on a proven 1911 platform, it uses Series-70-style lockwork without a firing-pin block and a titanium firing pin. The pistol is chambered in .45 ACP with an 8+1 capacity and a 5 in barrel, delivering the classic Government-size configuration.
The slide is bar-stock stainless with a black finish that presents polished sides and a matte top. Functional details include rear cocking serrations only and a lowered, flared ejection port. The frame is investment-cast stainless with a dark finish, combining durability with a clean, purposeful look.
Controls and fire-control parts are thoughtfully executed: a skeletonized aluminum trigger with an over-travel stop, a skeletonized Commander-style hammer, a beavertail grip safety with memory bump, and an extended left-side thumb safety. The flat, checkered mainspring housing pairs with a smooth front strap, and the fancy walnut grips feature Ruger medallions and laser-cut traction.
Sights are dovetail-mounted, fixed Novak-pattern three-dots for a straightforward, snag-resistant sight picture consistent with the pistol’s Government-size role.
