Built on the carbon steel J-frame with a square-butt configuration, this Model 34-1 combines a compact profile with a 4-inch tapered barrel for steady sight alignment. The barrel is pinned and ribbed with serrations on the rib, and the topstrap is also serrated to reduce glare.
Sighting components include an adjustable rear sight and a ramped, serrated front sight. The revolver operates in double-action/single-action and uses a six-shot fluted cylinder. It retains period-correct details such as an unshrouded ejector rod with a knurled tip and a checkered cylinder latch.
The polished blued finish covers the frame, cylinder, and receiver, complemented by a case-hardened hammer and a smooth, case-hardened trigger. The factory checkered walnut service stocks with S&W medallions complete the classic appearance and provide secure handling.
Markings include the S&W trade-mark logo on the sideplate and "MOD. 34-1" on the yoke cut. This United States-made Kit Gun reflects the late-production features of the 34-1 series and includes an additional Pachmayr rubber grip, the factory box, and paperwork.
